How a school garden is supporting meals at Meheba boarding school in Zambia

Located within the Meheba refugee settlement in Kalumbila District, the school brings together refugee and local Zambian learners. With support from UNHCR and implementation by Caritas Czech Republic, its revitalised production unit is now contributing fresh vegetables to school meals while creating opportunities for learners to gain hands-on experience in food production.

Every year on 19 August, we commemorate their memory, as well as the work of hundreds of thousands of other humanitarian workers around the world. This year, we prepared short testimonies for you, written by our employees from the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Zambia. Their work supports those who often perceive humanitarian help as their only source of hope.
