In Cambodia, we help to reduce perinatal mortality through new equipment for children's hospital

Caritas Czech Republic supplied the recently opened perinatal unit of the National Pediatric Hospital in Cambodia with modern equipment. It will increase the capacity to provide high quality care for mothers and their new born children, which will lead to further decrease in perinatal mortality.

Meet Sophie Kabamba Mukeny (45 married and mother of 7 children) and Elizabeth Kapinga (32, single), Congolese refugees living in Mayukwayukwa refugee settlement. "Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamt of becoming a doctor. But my family could not afford the school," twenty-seven-year-old Sigiro, a refugee from Rwanda, tells us in a Zambian hospital. “Caritas Czech Republic helped me secure a scholarship and today I am a doctor," Sigiro continues happily.
