As of 31st August 2020, Zambia has hosted over 92,598 people of concern who have fled their homelands due to persecution, conflict, violence or natural disasters.

Life on a mission during the Covid-19 pandemic: What is it like in Zambia?

In Zambia, the coronavirus outbreak was slower compared to Europe. However, at the same time, there was very little testing at the beginning which meant the numbers did not match the reality. Anyway, Zambia introduced strict measures last March to prevent the spread of the virus. The country is currently preparing to start the vaccination process.

At Caritas Czech Republic we are oftentimes responding to man-made disasters that are affecting communities in different parts of the world. While wars or inadequate state administration tend to create more visible crisis, a growing number of issues we are facing are related to the environment and its deterioration. We know that if we do not change the way we live and work, the situation will only get worse. This is why we are introducing series of efforts to push for greater environmental sustainability of our work.
